Repositioning one of London’s most daring independent cinemas

‘Watch this space’ is our new brand campaign for Cinema at the Barbican, positioning the venue as the one to watch for the freshest, edgiest, grittiest, sharpest films. A place for the stories that demand more, that cross the lines, cultures and boundaries that others don’t.

Cinema at the Barbican is a programme of in-house curated seasons, new release films, performances and festivals shown within the world-class arts and learning centre. Following an increase in independent cinemas across London as well as a rise in popularity of home entertainment brands, Cinema at the Barbican required a new brand positioning and campaign to secure and re-establish its position within the market.
Working alongside the Barbican’s design team, we used their iconic brand to create a bold, simple campaign framing device which put the films at the heart of the creative. The campaign was rolled out across the venues physical and digital spaces, including posters and an in-house promotional trailer.
